The Greene County Sheriff’s Office along with the GA Department of Natural Resources were called to a residence in the Cherokee Point Subdivision in regards to an unresponsive male found in the lake. Greene County Fire/EMS were on scene and helped remove the victim, Donald Evans, from the water. Investigators from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene to help assist the GA Department of Natural Resources in their investigation. Preliminary results of the investigation suggest the drowning to be accidental pending the results from the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office. The investigation into this incident is currently on going and no other details are available at this time.
