Congressman Jody Hice announced Monday his plan to run for Georgia Secretary of State.

U.S. Representative Hice is challenging current Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who has said he intends to run for re-election.

Congressman Hice quickly picked up the endorsement of former President Donald Trump.

Rep. Hice has represented the 10th Congressional District since 2015.

With the Georgia General Assembly redrawing the Congressional district lines later this year, the Congressional district or districts representing the Lake Area will likely look different on the ballot next year.

Qualifying for the 2022 elections would likely be in March of next year. The current election calendar has Primary Day on May 24, 2022. Primary Runoff on July 26, 2022. Election Day on November 8, 2022.

  1. Rep. Hice has been a staunch defender of the Alt-Right, even tweeting “This is our 1776 moment” during the raid on the US Capitol. The man is actually anti-American, as he is against the U.S. Constitution, wanting to seize the nation and apparently replace it with a new one. That, or he doesn’t know what 1776 was. Either anti-American, or just plain stupid, or possibly both.
